Jono Thompson started out on computers at an early age with a BBC Micro programming in BBC Basic on a BBC Model B before moving onto the Acorn Archimedes. His 1st PC was a 1st generation Pentium 133Mhz with 1.2Gb HDD running Windows 3.11 for workgroups. This was soon networked using 10base-t networking in his student house for playing network games.
Jono has over 24 years of experience working on routing and switching and wireless in enterprise networks, working with a wide range of vendors and in more recent years moving in to working in datacentres.
Jono started out his networking as a Cisco engineer before branching out into other vendors and first used a MikroTik in 2010 before later becoming a Trainer in 2017. Jono holds all 10 MikroTIk’s Qualifications alongside many qualifications from other vendors including Ubiquiti.
Jono is a certified MikroTIk and Ubiquiti Trainer.
Jono heads up our training and consultancy services and delivers many of our vendors’ courses.
